In order to share experience, analyze prospects, guide the way forward for graduates who are about to enter the society, and help graduates realize the purpose of life planning, on the afternoon of June 18, the Graduate Academic Forum "Learning and self-cultivation" jointly organized by the Graduate School and the School of Physics and Electronic Science was held in the Langan Building F347. Professor Li Jian made an academic report with the theme of "Never forget your original intention, Live up to your youth". More than 60 graduate students attended the forum.

Professor Li Jian conducted the lecture from five aspects: employment background, employment planning, life goals, not forgetting the original intention, and living up to your youth. Through a detailed analysis of graduates' employment direction, job preferences and enterprise scale, to broaden students' employment vision and employment ideas. Professor Li Jian also gave different examples to prove that life goals are crucial to personal development, and to encourage people to establish a correct outlook on career and life. Finally, the professor encouraged the graduates not to forget their original intentions, always adhere to the self, and face the road ahead with a good and positive attitude. After the presentation, Professor Li Jian patiently answered the questions from the audience, and imparts a lot of professional knowledge and valuable experience in study to the students in a very detailed and vivid way, helping them to have a clearer plan for the future.

Professor Li Jian encouraged students to choose a doctoral degree according to their personal interests and professional characteristics in answering the questions raised by the on-site graduate students about "pursuing a doctoral degree or working after graduation". Citing his own example, Professor Li believes that despite his achievements in the field of nonlinear optics, a PhD is essential for further research and career development. He stressed that whether students are smart or not, they should maintain their passion and pursuit of knowledge. Professor Li is confident that the university will do all it can to provide support and guidance to students, no matter what path they choose.

Do not forget the original intention, live up to your youth. Taking every step of life well is an important issue that we have to face at different stages. The theme lecture of this forum aims to broaden graduates' knowledge of related fields, improve graduates' control over career planning, and provide more experience and possibilities for future development through detailed analysis of social status and prospects.
