The 3rd Advanced Photonics Forum: Light Field Regulation and Application Conference was held in Shandong Normal University

From March 14 to 16, the "3rd Advanced Photonics Forum: Light Field Regulation and Application" conference hosted by China Laser Magazine and sponsored by Shandong Normal University was held in Qianfo Campus of Shandong Normal University. Academician Zhu Shining, honorary chairman of the Forum, Jiang Xiangwei, Director of the Department of Physics of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, members of the Technical Committee of the Forum, invited experts and scholars, researchers from universities and institutes and representatives of exhibitors attended the meeting. The opening ceremony was moderated by Professor Yuan Xiaocong, Chairman of the Forum and co-editor of Advanced Photonics (AP) and sister magazine Advanced Photonics Nexus (AP Nexus).

Yuan Xiaocong reviewed the development of AP and AP Nexus since its inception, introduced measures such as the green publishing channel set up for excellent results, and looked forward to promoting in-depth discussions among experts. In his speech, Professor CAI Yangjian, Vice President of Shandong Normal University, warmly welcomed experts in the field of light field regulation to attend the meeting, and hoped that everyone could speak freely and enjoy the academic feast during the meeting. Jiang Xiangwei introduced in detail the strategic layout implemented by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in the field of light field control, and looked forward to the future development plan in this field, outlining a grand blueprint for the subsequent development of this field. The forum received more than 90 reports from many domestic universities, research institutes and other enterprises and institutions, including 5 invited reports, 57 invited reports, 29 oral reports and posted reports. Three topics are set up, covering the principles and technologies of light field regulation, the interaction between new light fields and matter, and the application of light field regulation.

In the forum report session, Professor Lu Yanqing of Nanjing University systematically explained the unique physical properties of liquid crystal materials and the development trend of optical components; Professor Lu Peixiang from Huazhong University of Science and Technology explained the application research of ultrafast electron dynamics detection based on attosecond light source in an easy-to-understand way, focusing on the application of ultrafast spectroscopy technology in the precision detection of ultra-fast processes at extreme space-time scales; Professor Xiao Yunfeng from Peking University discussed the main research directions of ultra-high quality factor microcavity optics and photonics, including microcavity quantum electrodynamics and microcavity photomechanics. Li Ming, professor of Shandong University, traced the background significance of ultrafast laser manufacturing, analyzed the current status and challenges, and focused on the major needs and considerations of laser surface manufacturing in the field of aircraft radar; Professor Min Changjun of Shenzhen University analyzed how to generate and regulate the picmeter-scale optical field and achieve high precision optical measurement, and introduced the development prospect of "picmeter-scale photonics".
