On the afternoon of September 29, the College held the 18th session of the "East Evolution Forum" in the Lecture Hall 301, Area D, Wenyuan Building. This "East Progressive Forum" invited national leading talents, Professor Wang Shuming, professor of School of Physics, Nanjing University, Dean of Nanzhi Advanced Optoelectronic Integration Technology Institute, to give a report. Vice President Wang Jingjing presided over the lecture. Nearly 100 faculty and graduate students attended the lecture forum.
Professor Wang Shuming carried out the report from four aspects: achromatic imaging of superstructure surface, spectral imaging of superstructure surface, polarization imaging of superstructure surface, and new devices of superstructure surface. In this report, he explained in detail the method of realizing broadband continuous achromatic in the superstructure surface system by using the phase splitting principle. Professor Wang also introduced his team's research achievements such as snapshot spectral optical field imaging based on metasensing array, color routing imaging system based on metasensing surface, and efficient expandable retroreflector based on metasensing surface-refraction. At the end of the report, Professor Wang Shuming introduced the State Key Laboratory of Solid State Microstructure Physics of Nanjing University and the public optoelectronic integration platform of Nanzhi Advanced Optoelectronic Integration Technology Research Institute, and described its core processes and technologies as well as research and development directions. After the report, Professor Wang Shuming patiently answered the questions raised by the teachers and students present, and discussed the future cooperation and exchanges with our university, which deepened the breadth and depth of the academic exchange.
Wang Shuming is a professor at the School of Physics, Nanjing University, specializing in micro and nano optics, quantum optics and nonlinear optics. Won the National Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Youth project funding and the 4th Jiangsu Youth Optical Science and Technology Award. The research achievements were twice awarded the Top Ten Advances in Chinese Optics (2018,2020). He has published more than 80 papers in Science,Nature Nanotechnology,Nature Communications, Physical Review Letters, and other academic journals, with a total of more than 3000 citations.
