On the afternoon of March 14, the 40th lecture of the 23rd "East Evolution Forum" of the School of Physical and Electronic Science was held in the lecture Hall of Shu Hui Hall, Changqing Lake Campus. Professor Zhu Shining of Nanjing University, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, is specially invited to give a speech at the "Dongjian Forum". Chen Xianfeng, the academic Dean of the College, presided over the report and presented the "East Evolution Forum" trophy to Academician Zhu Shining. More than 300 experts and scholars in the field of light field regulation and application, members of the college leadership team, related professional teachers, graduate students and undergraduates participated in the activity.
Academician Zhu Shining gave an academic report entitled "From Sanxingdui Civilization to Artificial Intelligence: Casual Talk Information and Modern Information Technology". Taking the history of civilization evolution as scripture and information science as latitude, he started a cognitive exploration across the boundaries of literature and science. Starting from the morphological evolution of information carriers, the report breaks through the internal relationship between thermodynamic entropy and information entropy, and systematically explains the theoretical framework of Shannon information theory and its foundational role in contemporary gene editing technology and large model revolution. By comparing the quantization characteristics of electrical signal processing information with the wave nature of light wave propagation information, the physical nature of electromagnetic wave carrying information propagation is deeply analyzed, and then the information nature of life password storage and replication is revealed by taking the double helix structure of DNA as the hub. In the interactive session, for the professional questions raised by teachers and students, Academician Zhu Shining combined with interdisciplinary research cases, one by one to give both theoretical depth and practical value. This report not only opened up the transformation link between basic theory and engineering application, but also reconstructed the life cognition paradigm through the perspective of information science, effectively expanded the thinking boundary of interdisciplinary research, and the scene broke out warm applause for many times.
